If you wanted to showcase wheels you manufacture, what would you do? Create an eye-catching concept with six wheels and twin Rover V8 engines? Of course, and that’s just what Wolfrace did.
Former aircraft engineer Nick Butler designed the Sonic. A space-frame chassis serves as the foundation for the Jaguar running gear and custom body. The initial quote for the build was £29,000, but costs escalated to somewhere between £75,000 and £100,000, depending on source. Wolfrace eventually sold the Sonic to a private collector. In 2010, it was offered for sale for around £1 million.
The Wolfrace Sonic certainly turns heads, which it was designed to do, and it has made many public appearances. One such appearance was the British Grand Prix. The other was the Playboy Mansion, which certainly understands the more is better mentality.
