There are pace car editions, and then there are the
actual pace cars. This is the latter, driven by 1963 Indy 500 winner Parnelli Jones to lead the field of the 1998 race.
After its Indy 500 duties, Andy Evans purchased it and has had it ever since. Evans fielded Team Scandia, which competed in IndyCar from 1996 to 1999. He’s perhaps better known for buying IMSA with Robert Muller in 1996 and changing its name to Professional Sports Car Racing (PSCR).
Evans drove this Corvette sparingly, with a little over 5000 miles currently on the clock.
Find this 1998 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Indianapolis 500 Pace Car for auction at Broad Arrow Auctions, with an estimated value of $30,000-$50,000.
