This 1957 Ford Fairlane Custom Tudor sedan was built by the previous owner in the style of the Grand National NASCAR race car campaigned by Glenn “Fireball” Roberts. The car is powered by a supercharged 312ci V8 linked to a three-speed manual transmission and was repainted in red and white #22 livery. Equipment includes 14″ steel wheels, white and gray vinyl upholstery with patterned cloth inserts, a roll bar, a dual exhaust system, modified suspension, hood and decklid straps, covered headlights and taillights, chrome front and rear bumpers, and a driver’s seat belt. Acquired by the seller in 2022, this modified Fairlane is now offered with a scale model of the car, literature, show signage, a rabbit’s foot key chain, records, and a clean Arizona title.
The car is finished in a red and white #22 livery replicating that used by Glenn Roberts during the early 1957 NASCAR season. Exterior details include sponsorship branding, stretch ropes securing the hood and decklid, rear bumper end extensions, a hood handle for the pit crew mechanic, and a white cross painted on the left headlight cover to identify the car on the track. There is a chip in the windshield.
Red-finished 14” steel wheels were installed under prior ownership and are mounted with older BFGoodrich Silvertown tires measuring 195/75R14. The front suspension has been modified with dual shocks per side connected to towers linked with an adjustable brace spanning the engine bay. Braking is via manual drums at all four corners.
