Hot Hot Hot
The heat is on and so are the afternoon rains. The snowbirds have flown north, the recurring cruise ins are taking a break, and the shows become fewer. We go through this every summer. Complete opposite of what the car scene does up north.

I remember in the mid to late 80's in Ohio, starting around April until Halloween, I would take my Nova to work on Friday, get off and circle the city to various cruise-ins. Get up early Saturday, clean the car, head out into the country to a show, then hit the evening cruise in somewhere on the way home. Sunday was a repeat. Put the car away for the week and start again on Friday. I think I cleaned the Nova a dozen times throughout the weekend.

I miss those days. Nothing else to do but live for the moment. No bills, no school, no requirements, just fun with my car. I only had to make enough money to pay for gas, insurance and repairs. I had no idea what was happening in the world, nor did I care. Life was simple.

As we all get older, I try to make my days like that again. Simple, nothing too difficult and no Facebook drama. My hobbies are broader and so is my circle of friends. I enjoy the slower pace. I hope you too find the happier parts of life and not take things too seriously.
