So FEMA is almost out of money to help with Federal Emergencies (you know the FE in FEMA) because they spent almost $1,000,000,000 helping illegal immigrants over the last two years. Got it, but probably tough to explain to those not getting the help they need in GA and NC!

Hi Michael, Biden has been using FEMA funds to house illegal immigrants all over the country his entire Presidency. It’s called the Shelter and Services program. $941 million in 2023 and 2024 alone.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has warned that FEMA "does not have the funds to make it through [hurricane] season" as it continues to respond to natural disasters. Donald Trump Jr. blasted the Biden administration in response, criticizing it for diverting nearly $1 billion in FEMA funds to shelter illegal immigrants, arguing the money should have been allocated for disaster relief efforts instead of expensive hotel rooms for illegals and gangs in New York City.

Key Details:
  • Mayorkas, during a press briefing on Wednesday, stated that FEMA "does not have the funds to make it through the season" as the agency grapples with ongoing disaster recovery from Hurricane Helene.
  • Trump Jr. accused the Biden administration of depleting FEMA’s emergency response funds by funneling nearly $1 billion into the Shelter and Services Program (SSP), which supports illegal immigrants.
  • Critics, including Trump Jr., argue that the diverted funds could have been better used for disaster relief, particularly as FEMA faces a shortfall during an intense hurricane season.
Diving Deeper:

In a press conference Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas warned that FEMA is running out of funds and may not be able to continue providing disaster relief for the rest of the hurricane season. According to the Associated Press, Mayorkas stated, "FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season," underscoring the urgent need for more resources as the agency continues to aid communities hit by natural disasters, such as Hurricane Helene in Georgia and North Carolina.

Shortly after Mayorkas' warning, Donald Trump Jr. took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize the Biden administration for diverting nearly $1 billion in FEMA funds to the Shelter and Services Program (SSP), which provides assistance to illegal immigrants. Trump Jr. wrote, "So FEMA is almost out of money to help with Federal Emergencies (you know the FE in FEMA) because they spent almost $1,000,000,000 helping illegal immigrants over the last two years. Got it, but probably tough to explain to those not getting the help they need in GA and NC!"

According to figures from fiscal years 2023 and 2024, the SSP has allocated $941 million to support non-federal entities in providing humanitarian services for migrants. Critics argue that this redirection of funds has come at a time when FEMA is facing significant financial strain in responding to disasters, particularly in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which devastated parts of Georgia and North Carolina.

Another commentator echoed Trump Jr.’s frustrations, saying, "Biden has been using FEMA funds to house illegal immigrants all over the country his entire Presidency. It’s called the Shelter and Services Program. $941 million in 2023 and 2024 alone." This sentiment reflects growing concerns among conservatives that federal resources are being misallocated, with FEMA funds going to migrant assistance rather than disaster relief.

The SSP, overseen by FEMA in conjunction with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), aims to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants, including shelter, meals, and medical care. However, critics like Trump Jr. argue that such spending has diverted crucial resources from FEMA’s core mission of assisting American citizens during natural disasters.

With FEMA already stretched thin, the debate over how federal resources are being distributed is intensifying. Many, including Trump Jr., are calling for a reassessment of the Biden administration’s spending priorities, emphasizing that FEMA must be adequately funded to handle emergency response efforts in the face of mounting natural disasters. Democrats don't know anything more than spend spend spend
immediately, and tax tax tax. The words planning and budgeting are unknown to democrats who always got free money at a govt job.
