fstrnu TZmtrsprt 14 hours ago Back in the day the tires were no where near as good at evacuating water...so a whole lot less was thrown out the back of the tire AND the aerodynamics back then were pretty messy so there was much less water spray being generated.
Modern cars are so good aero-wise now and tires pump tons of water out so it's just so much more water vapor pumped into the air that's its just crazy.
The used to race in some pretty mean conditions but the visibility in similar wet conditions was way, way better.
