From the old SPEED channel, Jeff Hammond hosts this profile on the career of NASCAR engine builder and crew chief Waddell Wilson. He started his career at Holman Moody working on cars for Fireball Roberts and David Pearson. Wilson moved to L.G. Dewitt's shop and won the NASCAR Cup championship in 1973 and the Daytona 500 in 1975. Next he moved to Harry Ranier's team winning 1980 Daytona 500 with Buddy Baker. In 1982 a Wilson prepared car set the first official 200 mph lap at Talladega. In 1983 and 1984 Wilson powered cars won back to back Daytona 500's with Cale Yarborough. He closed out his career working for Rick Hendrick working on cars for Darrell Waltrip and Geoff Bodine.
