This evening I was thinking about the strangest thing I could bring to a Lemons race. What I came up with was a vehicle with two complete, independently functioning, drivetrains: Air cooled VW Beetle in the back and manual transmission VW Rabbit (or something similar) in the front. This would be great because when one engine blows, you just put that transmission in neutral and run your second drivetrain. I think it could be done. I think the biggest engineering hurdle would be the throttle and clutch peddles. Perhaps you could engineer a quick change peddle box set-up. One set of peddles ready to connect to the front drivetrain and another set for the rear drivetrain. Snap them in and connect them to the appropriate clutch and throttle connections. This is the perfect machine for a Lemons race: Slow, most likely unreliable, overly complicated, and bizarrely engineered.
