California native Rod Emory was seemingly born to build custom Porsches. His grandfather Neil was a hot-rod pioneer who also ran the body shop at one of Southern California's first Porsche dealerships before starting his own Porsche restoration business. Rod's father, Gary, ran Porsche Parts Obsolete, a legendary supplier of rare Porsche Parts, for almost 40 years. It was in the back of Gary's warehouse that Emory - at the age of 14 - began restoring a 1953 356 and upgrading its performance for vintage racing.
