When it's black/white, it's in the period -correct "present"...when it's in color, the time has gone back 100 years.....
the flashlight "torch" is an interesting part at 49 minutes.

Because they cruelly forced the black kid into the chimney, later on the black kid knew how to do a rescue of the blind girl
by using the same chimney during the confusion......

and later on the white boy Tolley found the hiding place where the thief hid the jewels and dropped them down the same chimney,
which allowed the older lady to sell part of them and afford to stay in the house.....

I paused it when it showed the wall plaques in the burial hall to see the significance of the years and the ages of the people...

The writing of this story was brilliant to combine the two ages of time as it did.....

You will have to watch it twice to find out about the ghost of the soldier who was riding in the car.......
I'm not telling......
