The best viewing area will be Howard Park; however, once parking is filled to capacity, the gates will be shut and all westbound traffic on Sunset Rd. from Florida Ave. will be diverted. Park capacity is estimated at 1,020 vehicles. Absolutely NO ALCOHOL will be permitted in the park, and violators are subject to ordinance violation and expulsion from park. Additionally, personal fireworks and similar items are NOT permitted inside the park, to include sparklers (due to the concern for the ignition of dry leaves/foliage within the park).
Parking is available in the surrounding areas as long as you are not parked in a no parking area, on private property, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet from a stop sign, and not blocking residential or emergency vehicle access to any areas (roadways or driveways).
All vehicles exiting Howard Park will be required to use the exiting strategy and procedures as follows: (See Photo)
If you need to go south;
Please get into the right lane and you will be directed to take a right turn at Florida Ave. and Sunset Dr. You will then follow the message boards and stay on Florida Ave. until you reach Meres Blvd. Take a left on Meres Blvd. and stay on Meres until you reach the Traffic Control Signal at U.S. Hwy Alt 19 at which time you will take a right and proceed to your destination.
If you need to go north;
Please use the left lane and you will be directed to continue straight to Riverside Dr. At Riverside Dr. you will take a right and follow it all the way until you reach Tarpon Ave. then take a left to the Traffic Control Signal at U.S. Hwy Alt 19, at which time you will take a left or go straight and proceed to your destination.
Everyone enjoys seeing the fabulous display of Fireworks to help celebrate our Nations Independence. There will be lots of pedestrians walking inside the park and along the roads, so PLEASE be alert and be patient while traveling into and inside the park.

The City of Tarpon Springs is proud to present the annual Fourth of July Picnic in the Park on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, from 10 am until 2 pm at Craig Park (Tarpon Avenue at Spring Boulevard – Just west of Alternate 19).
