Two things not mentioned. #1 The cars. we as fans rooted for our favorite make of car that was built from a car from the maker ( Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Plymouth, Mercury, Pontiac, AMC, Etc.) Now they are all custom made with even the engines being custom. The only thing we relate to is the name of the plastic rapped make believe car. If we wanted that we would go to sprint car or some other custom built race vehicle. What happened to stock cars that teams built from manufactured vehicles that we identify with and the ability to outsmart the other teams by improving upon their car within the rules. #2 The fans that turn in to the race on TV that can not go to all the races all over the country, but still support a team or teams in some way that benifits the teams and the TV ratings. I for one after fifty to sixty years have lost interest in this type of racing. So with that I bid you goodby.
