Default Porsche/Rennsport: A Personal Collection is an assemblage

Extracted from Lee Giannone’s personal collection of original art, posters, photos and memorabilia that has been assembled throughout the past 30 years of active vintage Porsche restoration and motorsports participation, Porsche/Rennsport: A Personal Collection is an assemblage curated by a true motorsports racing expert who, since childhood, has graced the seasoned tracks to watch racing legends do what they were born to do.

Growing up in Eastern Pennsylvania, Giannone was bound to relish in the racing environment as a young boy propped between the Langhorne and Trenton Speedways. If Giannone wasn’t present in the grandstands of the raceway, he was probably making his way to the infield pits or sitting inside a Champ car resting idly on a trailer in anticipation of its next race.
“My father was a USAC member who raced midget and sprint cars. He raced under an alias so that my grandparents didn’t know he raced,” Giannone said with a laugh. “I’d travel to races with my dad; we’d do the Indianapolis 500 for qualifying weekends. I’d sit on the fence and watch legends walk from the pits to the garages. I was too young to get into either.”
As Giannone matured, so did his passion for racing. After years of watching from the stands, Giannone eventually positioned himself to run with the big dogs, transforming an adolescent passion into a full-fledged racing career that took the dreamer to some of the most prestigious competitions while manning total track icons. Throughout the past 30 years of active vintage Porsche restoration, collecting and motorsports rendezvous, Giannone has owned, restored and competed in a serious roster of Porsche’s racing history, including the renowned Coca-Cola-liveried 1984 962 (Chassis 962-102), two 1975 factory RSRs and the No. 12 1968 911L factory Rallye car—winner of the Swedish National Rallye driven by World Champion Björn Waldegård.
“I’ve had the opportunity to drive some really amazing cars,”
