I liked the film when I originally saw it although I never really understood what the hell was going on with Brando's character, or Brando himself for that matter. I had studied Heart of Darkness in either high school or college and knew the book, so I had a vague idea of the story. I can't see much reason for documenting animal slaughter or honoring backward,
Stone Age people's ignorance and sickening, constant sacrificing of animals, however. The body count certainly is high in Coppola movies. Dozens, at this point, plus animals now. It's a bit much. He should try a love story some time.
