Article for Keystone Motor Club...Why Bob doesn't try to turn FLAcarshows.com into...Why Bob doesn't try to turn FLAcarshows.com into Mike Kelly's cruise news.
Why write this? I have more than one reason.

My most recent rejection slip for a car story.......a story is what I thought I saw them
asking for........... partially said this:
" I have envisioned editorials about the overall show, generally, such as “great show”, “lots of cars” “excellent venue", "featured cars and their owners" etc, plus photos of the cars. More like an article for a magazine..However I can appreciate the word you spread about the car scene."

If only I had known it would be so easy to avoid rejection.....All I have to do is copy any Mike Kelly's Cruise News car story, insert the buzz words , then substitute specs of a car and send photos. Gotta remember the buzz words though.
------------------------------
Why NOT make any magazine look like every other one?

Reason #1:
Because today Car and Driver magazine looks just like Motor Trend.
During the Brock Yates editor, era of Car and Driver there were a variety of articles
that somehow were related to the car scene. During the D. Randy Riggs editor, era of Vintage Motorsports there were a variety of articles also.

Today Car and Driver magazine is the same "road test" magazine as Motor Trend. I can count on the annual road test of Porsche vs Corvette, and I can tell you in advance that Corvette always wins.......and once I learned that? I have no reason to read either magazine any more. And I quit reading them...... before both of them became Consumer Reports where the value of a car is determined by price per pound.......
------------------------------

So now we get to the letters to the editor, which used to be varying and entertaining as well as
comments, criticisms, etc......and witty retorts from the editors, but when the letters to the editor say:
"The car scene isn't like it used to be" then we are all doomed.......

WAIT A MINUTE!
People say that now and have said that for the most recent 20 years......
which tells me that the car SCENE is constantly changing.

But the question remains.......Will the PUBLICATIONS continue with "We've always done it that way"? .......until people quit reading? Or will the rebels among us step out and dare to be different?

All progress is because of the rebels in society.
If you don't believe that Ben Franklin, (a writer of Poor Richards Almanac)
was a bit of a rebel himself.......against the trend, flying a kite in a lightning storm, If you don't believe that Ben was a rebel, then in 2022, unplug your big screen TV and go stick your finger in the outlet.......lol......

Or go to FLAcarshows.com, and read Tara's Monthly newsletter where she talks
about:
"When May arrived I knew I was in the clear and the weekends started filling up with shows. I would get a stack of flyers in my car announcing upcoming shows. Then organize them by dates and decide on Friday where I was going for that weekend. My biggest decision of the week. Life was simpler then."
--------------------------------------
Tara, you rebel!
Keystone Motor Club does exactly that, and Life is still simple for us!
We listen to our music, we show our cars, we tell our tales,
and for a brief moment in time we don't get any older!

That is why people continue to have a good time at Keystone Motor Club and why we continue to grow.
Welcome to the Keystone Zone!..........you rebel, you....
