This is an invitation to share with your club members and special “car” friends to join in a fun driving day and a great charity event, as well. I am thrilled to be working with
Aaron Spaulding of the
Concours d’Elegance of Atlanta, and co-ambassador
Bruce Piefke of
Caffeine & Octane (C&O) for a unique Atlanta event, benefiting the
Parkinson’s Disease Comprehensive Care Clinic at
Emory Udall Parkinson’s Disease Center in Atlanta.
The Parkinson’s Drive Toward a Cure on Sunday November 1, 2020.
We look forward to hosting a fun drive through North Georgia! We are limiting this rally tour to a group of 30 special collector cars for this relaxing back road drive from a VIP Corral at Caffeine & Octane in Dunwoody, GA, to end up at Lucky Dog Racing across from Road Atlanta in Braselton. The day will start with the special Rally Corral at C&O from 8am to 11am with coffee and donuts. What a great way to be an inside part of North America’s largest monthly car show! Caffeine & Octane is nationally recognized as an “all makes, all models” car show that regularly attracts over 2000 vehicles and 15,000 fans. The C&O faithful get up very early the 1st Sunday of each month to watch the parade of cars arriving well before sunrise! The Caffeine & Octane TV Show has been filmed live there for the last five years!
At about 11am we then tour up to Peachtree Corners to a celebrity lunch (with Scott Pryor and Ed Bolian of Cannonball Run fame) about noon at Scott’s offices. From there at about 1 pm, the tour will go to Gary Brown’s prize-winning car collection, and then finish up at the Lucky Dog Racing garage across from Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA at about 4pm. We are honored by Gary Brown and Jerry Peters for their generosity in sharing with us for this charity event.
We are excited to report that Hagerty Insurance has joined as a sponsor, as well! They are helping with a special “Goody Bag” for each vehicle, including a 50% off coupon for a I-VAN Certified Vehicle Appraisal ($137.50 value), a commemorative dash plaque, detailing products and other surprises already donated and more still pending! 😊 Georgia Trophy is donating a very cool trophy for the club that shows up with the most vehicles, too!
This is not a timed event. It is a relaxing drive, with some fun hills and curves away from expressways. We plan to have three groups following the same route, each with a “lead” car and a “sweep” (last car), in order to keep a fun and orderly procession without losing any one along the way!
We have all been cooped up too much and really need more scenery in our lives. We will be practicing COVID 19 guidelines, so masks are needed when out of the vehicle.
Further information will be provided as we get closer to November 1st, but we wanted to be sure you got this on your calendar and registered early. Please go to our website and sign up for this chance to exercise our cars, lift our spirits and support a most worthy cause; tax deductible!
