Keystone Motor Club newsletter has over 11,000 views: WE are the car scene!
The highly informal strictly voluntary newsletter of the Keystone Motor Club - Tampa Racing
-------------------
To continue getting meeting notices, it is a good idea to sign in at a KMC car club meeting periodically, or to say HI ! in the newsletter, so we know you are interested. And if your interest goes away,
just tell us "Get me the hell out of those meeting notices!" and it will happen. lol

On July 18 2020 The KMC meeting was the coolest place in town! (Thanks to Milt's air conditioned garage) Refreshments consisted of Ice Tea, lemonade, plus home made brownies from Carol Prentice and some snacks from Gen Rummy.
-----------------
The 50-50 was operated by Rosemary Roorda and Alan Mevorah and won by Gen Rummy who donated $7 to the club. Bob Vail stapled it to the sign-in sheet and noted it in the newsletter, post # 245.
-----------------
Fred Humberstone, a friend of Vic Piano; brought a book of significant automotive history and shared it with us. I was busy snapping pics of memorabilia, and the meeting, and missed too much of the book. I hope Fred brings it back again. He may have several others. Pictures will be emailed out in a few days.
--------------
Milt had some never before seen Ford memorabilia and a very historical photo of a dirt track
car race from the 1930's. I wonder who that tall guy is on the left side of the picture....
-------------
Bob Vail displayed pinewood derby race cars and gave the story of how a goofy kid with no father
became a winner, when the purpose of building a race car was not to build a car, but to
spend time with father and son.
------------------
Both Vic and Milt brought up some elements of upcoming driving tours they are planning. For both tours, the best times would be when weather cools off (Jan, Feb,March) when we can DRIVE........out of respect for flatheads and others with higher engine temperatures.
Vic mentioned collecting money for a charity that Cigar City Flatheads car club supports annually by having a tour, and that Vic's other club combined with KMC would increase participation.
I would not be opposed to a similar tour that Milt went on with his Model T club. It sounded like fun.
----------------
Fred Humberstone knows of a British car club that has a New Years day tour along the beaches of Pinellas County and lunch at a restaurant next to the Gulf around New Port Richey. As we get closer to New Years we might look into maybe joining them.
-----------------
KMC Founder Sam Prentice recalled other tours and offered some thoughts.......All people kick in some money to cover ice cream costs for all participants, and then giving a different directions sheet to each car to create further distance and confusion in a sub division before arriving at the tour end. A visual scavenger hunt along the route was mentioned.
---------------
Further suggestion was a tour to Jim Cook's museum.
---------
Another suggestion was a nursing home drive thru parade, maybe with signs, baloons, waving to residents, etcbut maybe when we get off "house arrest", and the social distancing situation improves.
------------------
With the number of meeting females increasing, there is more female conversation
at meetings for those women who do attend.
------------
And folks, if you want to hear funny stories about winning the lottery, 1,000 cows and "Used to own a truck like that"........ you are just going to have to stop by our meetings..... lol
----------------
The next 3rd Saturday KMC meeting is August 15 2020.
-----------------
Pics from Milt's Garage will be coming soon.....but only if you are getting the keystone emailed meeting notices.
