Default June 20 2020 at The Keystone Motor Club meeting held at Winn Dixie 17649 Gunn Highway

On June 20 2020 at The Keystone Motor Club meeting held at Winn Dixie
17649 Gunn Highway and Van Dyke Road, East side of parking lot.

-------------------------------

A week prior to the meeting, we cleared away some of the underbrush. Thank you to all who helped.
On Meeting day Milt Roorda hauled a lot of it away and placed some temporary meeting signs
on each side of the "notch". That may have encouraged the automotive street turkeys not to fill the
spaces we took...or maybe the stinking armadillo aroma scared them off. Gen Rummy found the
armadillo and tossed it far from our spot, although the aroma lingered a bit. The aroma won't be there
next time thanks to some local turkey buzzards.
-------------------------------
We had acquired sixteen 5 gallon buckets of dirt, for a total of 80, thanks to Attorney Michael Snively of Snively Law. Dirt was spread where bottles, cans, and underbrush once was.
Thanks to Gen Rummy's pickup truck usage and all who helped. There will be a few more
deliveries of dirt filling some ruts at our meeting spot before the August meeting.
4 buckets from Lowes said "Doing it Right".
--------------------------------
Milt Roorda had mounted the Keystone sign that Jan Nelson got permission for, from Winn Dixies manager. It's lit and on a post next to where we hold our meetings. This is approximately what it says:
KEYSTONE MOTOR CLUB
meets every 3rd Saturday
10AM -NOON 813-839-4281
or 813-452-7807
---------------------------
Vic Piano was Guest MC for the meeting (GMC) and joked about proper preparation of road kill armadillo.
Vic also donated some trash bags to the Keystone Motor Club. Bob Vail is temporarily holding the club's trash bags.
Milt and Rosemary Roorda brought a few antique honest-to-gosh metal toys for display on their antique table,
We talked about having a driving tour. Milt and Vic had two types of suggestions.
Maybe the next step would be to plan specifically where to go and add to the ideas/suggestions.
--------------
If anyone has some leftover small amounts of liquid Roundup, the club has a good use for it.
---------------------------
We need someone reliable on a regular basis to call Dick Peterson for meeting notifications. He has no computer usage. I have his number.
Further meeting suggestions are welcome and will be passed on. If you have thoughts, make them known.
Email me, text me, call me or post in the newsletter. We are willing to listen.
----------------------------------------------
The 50/50 drawing was operated by Alan Mevorah and $20 went into the gas tank of Bob Carter's '57 Chevy. lol ...actually Bob Carter donated the $20 back to the club. Thanks, Bob Carter!
----------------------
Hey Bob, thank you for running these nice pics. (sent in member emails) Actually, he donated the 20 bucks back to KMC to help offset some reason expenses.-Alan
----------------------
Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
No one said a word to me and I was not aware of any donation since there were no
expenses and I only got the club's part. I stapled the $20 to the sign-in sheet as well as acknowledged that I was holding it for the club. I also posted in the Keystone newsletter that I was holding it temporarily. This is that post.
-Bob
-----------------------
Bob Vail stapled the $20 to the sign-in list, and will hold it temporarily until we have voted up a treasurer.
(We know where he lives lol )

The roll of 50/50 tickets was given to Rosemary Roorda to hold until the next Keystone meeting on July 18 2020.
----------------------------------------------
Vic Piano is still the keeper of the table and tent for when we need them.
Milt Roorda is the current keeper of the banner.
-----------------------------------------------
I see a trend of a meeting format with:
1.starting with socializing and BS'ing, about cars, then
2.discussing anything/business previously brought up, car events attended, then
3.discussing any fresh ideas/new business currently being brought up, future car events, then
4.Personal Items for sale, trade or Want-to-buy.
5.other commercial companies which members recommend, and as always........buying from Winn Dixie if possible.
If we need to add/delete/rearrange categories, let me know.........If I leave anything out, let me know.
-------------------------------------------------------------
