Tony Stewart was the last person to run both the Indy 500 and the Daytona 500 on the same day.
He flew a plane from Indy to Daytona as soon as the race was over.
Following that, Indy turned butt head and started the INDY 500 late enough to put a stop to that!

OK, so you INDY jerks hurt the sport, but years later, you sold out to Roger Penske.
You jerks got old, Indy lost popularity, and you had to cash out while you still could.

And if you didn't sell to Penske, the next bidder, NASCAR would have bought the Indy track.
How embarrassing!

Now it appears that circumstances have changed and NASCAR's Jimmy Johnson will race both races.
