HOT FORDS SERVE AS FINE WARM-UP TO CONCOURS OF AMERICA WEEKEND
PLYMOUTH, Mich. – When the Concours d ’Elegance comes to Michigan, you can always expect the best of the best to come out of the woodwork from all across the region. That was especially the case during the 41st Annual Concours d ‘Elegance of America weekend held at The Inn at St. Johns in suburban Detroit. For Ford fans, the day before the grand show is the time to go, as the public and their vehicles are welcomed for a Cars and Coffee event held in the parking lot of St. Johns.
The morning event drew just about every type of Ford Performance vehicle in the current lineup including several second-gen Ford GT’s, multiple Focus RS rides and an ample sample of new Mustangs, from Shelby GT350’s to EcoBoost-powered Stangs. There was also a handful of collectible Fords among the cars on display; a few Fairlanes, restomod Cobras and even Broncos were spotted. As added attractions, attendees could also check out the “Concours d’Lemons” show, an Invitational Art Exhibition, and seminars on “Why I Collect What I Collect” from such well-known hobbyists as Wayne Carini, Ken Lingenfelter and Ralph Marano -- all free of charge and open to the public.
Mega enthusiast and Ford Marketing retiree Bill Cook, himself a Boss 302 owner and our own roving car show photographer, was kind enough to share what he saw through his camera lens during the Cars and Coffee event back on July 27 in the gallery below:
