From the old Speed network, Jeff Hammond hosts this profile of legendary NASCAR crew chief Harry Hyde. During his career he guided Bobby Isaac to a NASCAR Cup championship in 1970. Hyde was the inspiration for the crew chief (played by Robert Duvall) in the 1990 movie Days of Thunder.

Hendrick motorsports now stands over the spot where Harry Hyde's garage once was. The number 46 Chevrolet in the movie Days of Thunder was sponsored by City Chevrolet.

That name was not fictitious........it was the name of Rick Hendrick's very first Chevrolet dealership.

Built against one of the walls at Hendricks is a replica of that first City Chevrolet dealership.
