In the 3rd episode of Racing Stories, I will be going over an old short track from Tampa, Florida called "Golden Gate Speedway". NASCAR only raced there once on November 11th, 1962 on the 1963 season. It was raced onced because it was a one off.
The schedules were way different at the time. After NASCAR left Tampa, there were local short track races held for the race fans in Florida. The track was first closed down in 1978. 3 years later, it was back open in 1981.
In 1984, the track was closed for good due to noise complains by the county. Personally, I always wanted to do a video about the former race track almost 4 years ago when I first heard about the track from nascarfan19's NR2003
Abandoned Race Tracks series Personally I want to thank nascarfan19 for shocking me about the track and learning about it! If it wasn't for the video, this video wouldn't exist. Thank you, nascarfan19!
