Wes McGee This happened about six miles north of my dad's family's house when he was 5 years old. My grandmother took my dad to Arcadia and they saw the bodies, which were still in the car. Dad doesn't remember this but my grandmother told the story many times.



One of the shooters was Prentiss Oakley, a deputy there in Arcadia. Dad knew Prentiss when dad was growing up. He said Prentiss was never the same after the shooting, and could not even hold a gun without falling to his knees, crying. Grandmother is long gone but Dad is still alive although he has Alzheimer's.
