High Performance Driver Education (HPDE)
High-Performance Driver Education is for everyone that wants to improve their driving technique.
RallyPro Performance Driving School instructors have taught professional race car drivers, teen drivers and military forces, so they have a wide and diverse range of tips for any driver no matter their driving skill!
If this is your first time attending an Open Track Day or HPDE, we will require a 20-minute driving instruction session taught by one of our RallyPro Performance Driving School instructors. These sessions are so our stewards can get to know you, cover the basics of our dynamic track, as well as make sure everyone on track knows they are on the track with other instructed drivers!
High-Performance Driver Education (HPDE)
- 1-to-1 instruction
- Available to Open Track Day Registered Drivers
- Right-seat coaching in your car (must have a passenger seat)
- Teaches basic track line, braking areas, and shift points
- $75 per driver per 20-minute session
Helpful Driving Tips
- Take everything out of your glovebox! This has nothing to do with your driving, until the glove box pops open, and things fly about at 110 mph.
- Understand grip. When the steering wheel is turned, you lose braking and acceleration grip. When you are on the limit of either braking or acceleration, you lose turn in grip.
- Be smooth with your inputs. Controlled inputs allow you to carry more speed through corners.
- Understand weight management. When a car understeers, or pushes, correct this by lifting or braking to put more weight on the front end and if extreme then straighten out the wheel and scrub speed. When a car is oversteering, add throttle to transfer weight back onto the rear tires and regain traction.
Performance Road Racing Instruction
The RallyPro performance road racing course at the FIRM offers the thrill of a lifetime. No traffic lights. No stop signs. Our highly experienced RallyPro instructors at the FIRM have perfected their skills with years of training to offer you the ultimate road course instruction. Instructors use their diverse, competitive background to elevate your driving experience. The FIRM offers a 1.6-mile road course to explore and push the limits of your driving skills, at one of the most diverse and challenging motorsport parks in North America. If you want the thrill of high-performance driving, to discover the secret to dropping that elusive last second from your lap time or have your desire set on competitive racing, then our Performance Road Racing Instruction at the FIRM will exceed your expectations.
Half-Day Road Racing Course – $1,000
- 1-to-1 instruction
- 1 hour classroom
- 3 hours in the car on the track
- Basic on-track safety and etiquette, terminology, and driving technique theory
- Car control and assessment on our half-mile solo circuit
- Basics of proper shifting, steering, and throttle techniques
- Vision techniques as applied to proper cornering set-up
- Introduction to our road course
- Practicing braking, downshifting, turn-in, apex and track out procedures
- Debrief and certificate of completion presentation
- $1,000 per driver $500 each additional driver up to 2 more
Book Half Day
Full-Day Road Racing Course – $1,600
- 1-to-1 instruction
- 5 hours in the car on the track
- 1.5-hour classroom instruction
- Basic on-track safety and etiquette, terminology and driving technique theory
- Car control and an assessment on our half-mile solo circuit
- Basics of proper shifting, steering, and throttle techniques
- Vision techniques as applied to proper cornering set-up
- Introduction to our road course
- Practicing braking, downshifting, turn-in, apex and track out procedures
- Debrief and certificate of completion presentation
