A smart mouth is a great way to start a fight and a lousy way to finish it. If I'm sitting in a car with no place special to be other than a party, not a lot of point in pissing off a bunch of clearly aggressive young males -- especially since I have the means and ability to conclusively settle the issue in a heartbeat, if necessary. I've been in a similar situation with a friend along, and I took the precaution of letting that friend know 'let 'em have their fun...we'll wait.' On the other hand, I'm pretty choosy about my friends. Motor mouths need not apply.
