OP, if brightness is your main concern, you should consider replacing the original 9005SL+ halogens with Wagner HIR-1 9011 units. The HIR bulbs are substantially brighter with the same power draw.
The two main drawbacks are that you'll have to modify the tabs on the 9011s slightly (you can use a Dremel, a nipper, a nail clipper, etc), and they'll have a shorter lifespan (about 400 hours) than the OEM 9005s (700 hours or so). But it's a cheap and effective upgrade.
