Vinyl removal for 11 year old stripes?Back in early 2008 I had "stinger" side stripes installed by a local company. 11 years later they still look good from afar, but not up close. They have cracked (spiderweb), and I know they will not pull off in one piece, likely thousands of pieces.
I would leave them in place, except that I need to replace my fuel door, as it has rusted through, and the stripe runs across it. I have a new door (found on on eBay the correct color), but I will need to replace or completely remove the stripes.
I am leaning towards ordering a new set of stripes, as I like them, but not sure how to get the old ones off. Heat and peeling seems unlikely since they have spidewebbed, and are not coming off in one piece. Hoping someone knows of an easy way to get them off, I am assuming there are chemical to do this, but need guidance on which one works best.
For reference, the silver strips in this photo are what I am planning to replace (photo is from just after they were installed). I can probably get an up close photo of the current state in the next couple days if needed.
Appreciate any help.
