This collection of OLD FLORIDA PICTURES (circa 1880-1902) captures the time and spirit when people and cargo were transported via our many rivers in Florida and the railroads. Before roads came to Florida, the rivers were king. Photography was not for poor people back then so many of these scenes reflect what life was like then for the well to do. The camera work, sharpness and focus reflected in these scenes was surprising to me. Enjoy this trip back into Florida's lovely past.
