Places weren't crowded, no litter, everything was a lot cheaper, no drive by shootings, no people throwing temper fits, the roads were not congested, it was calmer and more fun. A summer would go on forever. You could go on vacation and drive anywhere and come back and nobody broke into your house. The food was all real and to die for. Hot dogs were
unbelievable and didn't taste like baloney. Steaks were very tender - in fact everything was delicious so you didn't have to snack in between meals because you were satisfied. It was a wonderful time to grow up in. Slow, relaxed, lazy days that seemed to go on forever. When we went trick or treating during Halloween there were dozens and dozens of little voices
out in the darkened neighborhood going house to house.
