The power they occasionally produce is often at the wrong time, and in insufficient quantities anyway. This form of
'power generation' is so inefficient, that when wind does occasionally reaches 20% of consumption, it means that base-load power has to be varied - so increasing inefficiency and emissions. They exist only because of government subsidies or mandates, which you pay heavily for. Wind power produces less than 0.5% of global energy requirements.
