Making the switch to an aftermarket dash is a necessity when your vehicle hits a certain level of performance and monitoring data becomes critical. Having the ability to view the data is great, however, if the data isn’t flowing fast enough it won’t be of much use to you inside the car.
AEM has stepped up the performance of their CD-5 and CD-7 Carbon Digital Dashes to provide quicker data displays for 2008 and newer vehicles using their stock ECU.The development of the CD-5 and CD-7 dashes came about to assist those with 2008 and later vehicles that needed an accurate and easy-to-read display that worked with OBDII data from the stock ECU. By using the AEM plug-and-play harness for your application, the CD line of displays will work with your vehicle providing the ability to log data and monitor up to 22 channels of data.
The newest update to the CD-5 and CD- dashes increase the data transfer speed from the OBDII CAN bus devices up to 40 percent. This translates into a transfer speed of about once per .15 seconds for most applications. This allows you to see fresh data on the display even quicker, while still retaining the use of the stock ECU in your vehicle. With less latency and quicker data transfers, you will be able to see if there’s a problem with your engine earlier and make adjustments if needed in a timelier manner.Check out all the details on the CD-5 and CD-7 displays right here on AEM’s website to see how they can help you improve the performance of your vehicle.
