RACER Staff 18 hours ago An hour outside of Tucson, or two hours from Phoenix, lies Inde Motorsports Ranch. Spread over 1,700 acres of high desert in the shadows of the Galiuro Mountains, this private motorsports club features a 2.75-mile, 21-turn road course with 200ft of elevation change and a 2,200ft long main straight. In all, it can be configured 34 different ways, including running both clockwise and counter clockwise. If driving a high-performance street or track car, or a thoroughbred racecar is your thing, that information alone may be enough. But like all the best private driving clubs, Inde Motorsports Ranch offers so much more. It’s the only track in North America to have it’s own FAA private airport on the premises, with a 3800ft runway and helipad. What’s more, you don’t have to be among the fortunate few to have access to private aviation. The club routinely organizes charters to various regions of the country, where members can share in their portion of the cost.Upon arrival, there’s no need to leave for anything other than to return home. Inde’s hospitality staff go to great lengths to ensure that all members feel like the club is a home away from home during their stays.Luxurious casitas are available to members for overnight visits, or if so inclined, members have the option to build their own custom home. Inde Motorsports Ranch is one of the few private motorsports clubs that offers its members the opportunity to purchase residential lots on a fee simple basis. The club recently received approval for a 10-lot subdivision known as the Highlands at Inde. Members will be able to build their own home and garage with very few restrictions on design layout and they will have direct, gated access to the Inde facilities.Regardless of whether members own their own home or utilize the casitas, there are 62 individual garage bays totaling 40,000sq.ft for member vehicle storage. When it comes to driving, there are no restrictions on the type of vehicle, provided it meets safety and maintenance standards. And when they say no restrictions, that even includes no sound restrictions. So if you’re the proud owner of a late ’90s F1 car with a wailing V10 capable of exceeding 17,000rpm – no worries. The club also brings a unique approach to instruction. Rather than a one-size fits all curriculum, lead instructor Kai Goddard and pro drivers Andy Lee and Dave Smith work one on one with members to develop a program targeted at their own needs, which could range from high-performance driving to drifting and road racing, as well as young driver programs.
Best of all, the total memberships will be capped, with only 25 slots still available. This ensures that both the track and the facility always feels like your own private retreat.
LIVING THE DREAM
Inde Motorsports Ranch is the only nationally-certified SCCA track in the Southwest.Despite its location, the Arizona high desert climate is fairly temperate, with summer highs rarely breaking the 100-degree mark. Winters are cool but comfortable, and suitable for driving all year.Individual/Family memberships range from a one-time initiation fee of $25,000 for an Associate Membership, to $75,000 for a Founding Membership. Annual dues range from $5,000 to $6,500 per year. Most membership levels provide unlimited track usage all year round and can be transferred without any restrictions. Corporate Memberships start
at $120,000 and can include up to four designated individuals. All memberships are lifetime.
Ten vintage Cold War fighter jets dot the Inde landscape. Most are American jets like
the F-111 Aardvark or A-4 Skyhawk, but there a couple of MIGs as well.
