24 hours of Lemons (Tampa)

I just moved to Florida yesterday and already need some track time. I don't know anyone in Central Florida SCCA yet or really anyone for that matter but hoping to meet some good people to race with. I have never done a Lemons event before but have always wanted to. I have a 98 Neon ACR that is the perfect peice of shit to do it in!!!! I just drove it here 1100 miles and 15 hrs 30 mns only stopping for gas three times so it could be a winner!!! The car needs a lil work (axle, clutch getting weak, etc) but it has a logbook, I have a fresh set of Hoosier A6 tires for it, and I have raced it for years to SCCA time trials and hillclimbs so it's better than starting with a random junker. I don't have a shop here yet so I would need that to complete the work but I do have commercial accounts with advance Auto, AutoZone, and Keystone so I can get parts for next to nothing.

I was told they do a Lemons at Daytona and that would be pretty rad so I need a few more drivers and someone with space to work on this turd so we have a reason to be drinking beers and swinging wrenches getting ready for a track day. The car has a legal roll bar and I ran it in FSP but I think I have to get a cage add on for the front and update the belts but that's not a big deal. It still has all of the ACR goodies such as the 3.94 trans, koni adjustable struts, quick ratio rack, 4 wheel discs, no ABS, it is a no radio/no ac car, and best of all it only weighs like 2250 lbs so it's actually fast and always won it's class up north.
