Anyway, are you sure you have those towing capacities right? I seem to recall that standard for standard the Titan reigns supreme. Go look at a sticker window on a Titan, the towing capacity is 9400lbs standard. And you tried to compare Ford's MAX towing capacity to the Titan's standard towing capacity. It seems to me that the "standard" capacity on the Ford is in the 7,000 range. That's ok if your trying to over compensate. Its not an easy thing to come to grips with, not being on top anymore. BTW...are you sure the 5.4 is the "standard" motor? I believe the standard motor is the 4.6 with 231hp @ 4750 and 291tq @3450.
Your not being honest with yourself and it only hurts you to not be fair. Like i said you can buy what you want, but why piss good money away?

And there is no way one could compare the Tundra to anything. At the training we opposed the Titan to the Tundra(bumper to bumper with an industrial nylon tie down) and put them in a low gear crawl, and the Tundra was pulled around like a little bitch

Edit: i was wrong i'll admit it...the towing capacity is not in the 7k for the Ford its actually in the 6K range for the "standard" 4.6 v-8. And your precious payload capacity is a dismal 1690lbs. Also, another interesting caveat is the fact that the 5.4 "was" rated at 260hp and 350tq until Ford found out the Titans' numbers were going to be much greater than that. And believe me when you sell trucks those are the two most important numbers in the world. So once agian, you have a truck who's price point is dollar for dollar what Fords standard truck is yet you get a truck that is ever bit a pimp in the big boy class. Now try to put dollar for dollar the "options" that it would take to bring the Frod up to the Titan and you would be in a whole nother ball park with price.
The Ford was rated @ 300 2 years ago when I first started reading about it at work. The TItan has a 900 payload w/ the big tow pakage. that isn't a standard option. I went by the 5.4 due to it is the same size engine. Kinda like compareing the specs of a civic to a vette.
