I always found the Eloi annoying with their vapid expressions and complete lack of intellect or sympathy. (This movie actually gives them a somewhat softer touch). As far as I was concerned, they were good for nothing else but serving as nourishment for the Morlocks, who at least were skilled builders and craftsmen.
