This fella is NOT an educated "biker" , the 1% term came from the California attorney general in 1966 when he stated publicly that 99% of bikers were law abiding citizens. He (the attorney general) never mentioned clubs ..per se..however, he was addressing the fears on some californians at that time of m/c's causing some trouble in the news. With regards to wearing a diamond shaped 1% patch on your cut I might say that it is not an "m/c" thing. You can live the 1% lifestyle and prove yourself over years of showing up to events, riding hard, never being a rat or a cop caller, and defending the rights of your brother bikers through actions and deeds.
Ill remind you that going out and buying an Amercan motorcycle and buying a cool leather vest and slapping a 1% patch on it does not qualify. People know each other in the biker world and that takes time, lots of time. If you want to wear the 1% patch, you need to have proven yourself or plan for a confrontation
