Jeffrey Earnhardt is not afraid to admit that early in his racing career he had it made.
In 2007 and 2008, Jeffrey was sitting pretty driving for his grandfather's NASCAR K&N team. His grandfather being seven-time NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt Sr. and the team being Dale Earnhardt, Inc.
"Hell, I thought the streets were paved with gold, and it's going to be a walk through the park," Earnhardt admits. "We were flying private jets to K&N races."
When Dale Earnhardt, Inc. began to crumble and eventually shut down, Earnhardt lost his opportunity and soon was scratching and clawing to piece together rides. Eventually, Earnhardt found himself entirely out of the sport and working in an automotive shop in the middle of nowhere, Virginia.
But today he has a full-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series ride for former Daytona 500 winner Derrike Cope and StarCom Racing. Earnhardt goes in-depth with Kelly Crandall about that journey, being an Earnhardt and more.
