Last month, the House of Representatives passed a bill that would permit concealed carry license holders to have national reciprocity—essentially making it illegal for anti-gun states like New York and California to continue targeting and prosecuting concealed carry permit holders from other states.
Unfortunately, so far the bill has stalled in the democrat controlled Senate. Former president of the NRA, David Keene, talks about the current status of the bill and whether he expected it to pass anytime soon in today's post. Check out Keene's thoughts on the bill here.

The Future of the Stalled Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill
Remember Stephen Willeford? He was the hero of the Sutherland Springs, Texas church shooting who defended his neighbors when an armed murderer was going on a killing spree. The killer, who does not deserve to be named again, killed and injured men, women, children, and babies. Willeford heard the shots, took his AR-15 out of his gun safe, and ran out into the street barefoot in order to engage with the killer.
Willeford talks about how he set his gun down when he heard cops giving the command to do so, but they said, “Not you, sir,” indicating their appreciation for his help. We love that detail of this story.
We would do well to remember that of all the
gun deaths in America- the majority of them are violent criminals who are killed by a lawful gun owner and police officers who are acting in defense of themselves or others. That makes Stephen Willeford a meaningful representative of this argument.
Our right to defend ourselves using prevalent weapon technology is under constant attack by legislatures whose motives are suspect. Why are their motives suspect? Because
every government that has successfully disarmed its people throughout history has always engaged in violent oppression immediately afterward. That’s why we bring up Stephen Willeford and people like him whenever the opportunity arises.
But we may be making gains against the anti-freedom left, as the former NRA President David Keene believes universal conceal carry permits will be legal soon. This would be a great advancement for freedom.
