I'm excited and honored to announce that the USCCA's award-winning publication, Concealed Carry Magazine, is in the running for the American Society of Magazine Editors' (ASME) "Best Cover Contest 2018."
The contest, which runs through Jan. 31, includes a whopping 280 entries from some of the biggest, most popular and most-read publications in the nation, including National Geographic, Newsweek, TIME, Glamour, ESPN, The Atlantic and GQ.
And that's why I need your help...
Think about it for a second: In places like LA and San Francisco and Chicago and New York, where many of these publications originate and where the voting for these types of contests usually take place, guns aren't exactly looked upon with favor. But we responsibly armed Americans have a chance to change the conversation by voting Concealed Carry Magazine to the top!
Take a look at the two covers that made the cut our "Comfort & Style" issue and our "Concealed Carry Lifestyle" issue and, if you would, click on over to Facebook to cast your vote by liking BOTH covers! I'd also be extremely thankful if you'd share these links with all your responsibly armed friends.

"Comfort & Style" Issue
Carrying a handgun comfortably while dressing with style is no easy task. For our 2017 "Comfort & Style" issue, we featured a classic American icon the cowboy. We met real-life cowboy Keith Janke at his stable on a cool morning.
Decked out in his own threads and tending to horses with his Springfield Range Officer on his hip, the relaxed and confident rancher exudes comfort. His distinctive cowboy hat and rugged jacket epitomize natural style.
Meanwhile, the barn's muted tones give the shot an authentically rustic feel while the sunlight peeking through old boards provides an additional eye-catching element.

"Concealed Carry Lifestyle" Issue
With the "Concealed Carry Lifestyle" theme of this issue, we celebrated the diverse personalities and ways of life within the concealed carry community. Reverend Peyton, the vibrant front man of the Big Damn Band, encapsulates that spirit perfectly.
During a hurried pre-concert photoshoot, Creative Director Ken Wangler asked Peyton to play a tune. Picking on his beautiful vintage guitar, Peyton was in his element.
Sunlight spilled into the venue from a nearby side door, combining with dim overhead neon lights to create depth and balance. The purple glow of stage lights added a captivating accent color. We had our shot.
If we can outvote some of the biggest names in the publishing world, imagine the message it'll convey about responsible gun ownership, the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Amendment and concealed carry. A gun magazine winning a cover (or any) award from the ASME would be HUGE!
According to ASME, you can vote for your favorite magazine covers until Wednesday, Jan. 31. They'll announce the winners Feb. 6 at the American Magazine Media Conference in New York City.
Thanks so much for your help. I'll keep you posted on the results.
Take Care and Stay Safe,
Tim Schmidt
