How to plan a Route 66 Road Trip

My suggestions of what to use to plan a route 66 road trip. My husband and I are planning on travelling Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica over a two week period while camping in a truck tent and then travelling home to make a total of 21 days of camping and driving.
