Several years ago, in the late 80's, I used to write to (pen-pal) Jimmy's high school biology teacher....Hugh Caughell, a lovely, elderly gentleman, who had some great Jimmy stories from Jim's high school years.
My daughter and I also got to ride in the '49 black Merc used in "Rebel". I sat right where Natalie Wood sat. (At the time, the car was located in the Harrah's Auto Museum, in Sparks, NV.) We had a special invitation from the 'boss' of the museum to come down early, before the museum opened, to see the car. (We'd travelled far to come see that car and we were told it wasn't available for viewing, as it was being used by the Grand Marshall of a parade that day.)
Needless to say, we were mighty disappointed. That's when we were told to, 'Be at the museum early the next day and ask 'for the boss'.) We got a special viewing by the car's own mechanic. We tooled around the parking lot with the biggest smiles you ever saw!....A devoted, (but old!) Jimmy fan! Thanks, Adam for the memories! Love the pooches!
