Notice the words he uses....the attacker was using "Lethal" Force. That justifies your use of lethal force as a defense to stop the attack.
Notice that the broken bottle became a slashing instrument once it was broken.
Notice that he fired several times but under stress, he only hit once. Had he fired only once and missed, it would not have stopped the attack.
