Smokey was the man! In '86 Chevrolet invited Smokey to drive all the GM production cars. After Smokey finished driving them GM asked what he thought. Smokey said they should shut down the assembly lines and redesign all the vehicles. GM didn't want to hear that and they never asked Smokey again but Smokey was right. Everything GM made then was crap.

Smokey always lived by the simple saying "Tell it like it is" and he did,,, Unless it had to do with the competition in a race.
