Ford Chip Ganassi Racing No. 67
In what was nearly an identical performance to the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen just 10 days ago, the No. 67 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT earned a podium finish and the
DEKRA Green Award following the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix this past weekend.
The result at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park came one week after Ryan Briscoe and Richard Westbrook were recognized for the second time this season for driving the cleanest, fastest and most efficient car in the GTLM class. The No. 67 also walked away with a third-place finish in the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix, after finishing second at Watkins Glen.
GTLM class teams competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship must utilize alternative fuels such as ethanol or biodiesel. These alternative fuels are relevant to the world’s automotive manufacturers and energy companies as they develop transportation solutions for the future that are sustainable and have a low environmental impact.
Additional factors established by the United States Department of Energy (DOE), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Society of Automotive Engineers International (SAE) in conjunction with IMSA, are also taken into consideration to score each car.
Next up for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is a GT showdown at Lime Rock Park on July 21-22. The Northeast Grand Prix will feature only the GTLM and GTD classes on Saturday, July 22 at 3 p.m. ET and can be watched live on FS2 and FSGO with FS2 authentication, after which another
DEKRA Green Award will be distributed. Keep up with each winner by following DEKRA on Twitter (
