John Smith
I got to see the Original Four Seasons when they all got credit. It wasn't Frankie Valli and anything. Sat in the middle of row four, with the best looking girl I'd ever taken out.
This would have been about 1966-or 1967-- about 50 years ago. The other "Seasons " were much better than the ones' he's with today. When I saw them, they had come out with about everything that had made them popular.
They performed for 2 hours plus, with a 30 minute break. That little man's voice never did falter in the concert. They were on time, and great. Had the ability to sound exactly like the recordings, so there was noting synthetic or electrically altered at all. It was just them singing, and playing.
The next year we had Dionne Warwick. She showed up over an hour late, consciously altered, and made an attempt. All you could say was that it was an attempt. So apparently she was into something way back in the 1960's. Interestingly, this was at a little Po Dunk state owned university with about 6000 students.
Two tickets to see the Four Seasons were something under $ 12 a pair. We had no auditorium other than the indoor basketball court, with seats on the floor, and around the second level.
Really didn't bother me to see " The Four Seasons" in unpadded folding chairs !!!!!! That was life. I even bought that beautiful lady an orchid to wear
