I was a victim of a violent crime. 1 out of 3 people will be a victim of a crime in their lifetime. He is not saying let's put more guns in criminals hands but personal defense is an individual's responsibility. I have my concealed carry license and took a class and a background check. Wouldn't you rather people have legal guns, took gun safety glasses, and practiced so they were comfortable with a gun.
I understand gun safety and how critical it is to be safe and feel safe with a gun and be a good shot if I need to pull the trigger. If someone breaks into my house I will take all my knowledge and make a education decision. It is also Americans 2nd amendment right which will never be taken away. Areas with the most relaxed gun laws have the less crime.
I am from Milwaukee and I live in Chicago which have very different gun laws and there is way more crime and murders in Chicago, so banning guns is NOT the answer. Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
