Stewart-Haas Racing is working on the details when it comes to Nature's Bakery sponsorship of Danica Patrick this season.
On Tuesday, Patrick raised eyebrows when she donned a Tax Act uniform at the NASCAR Media Tour presented by Charlotte Motor Speedway. This was surprising as Nature's Bakery serves as Patrick's primary sponsor, and is scheduled to be on the No. 10 Ford in 20 races this season.
"Nature's Bakery and Stewart-Haas Racing are in discussions about how the sponsorship might look in 2017," a statement from Stewart-Haas Racing said. "Both sides have options, and it's a matter of determining what is best for both parties.
"Stewart-Haas Racing remains focused on its preparation for the 2017 NASCAR season where it will again field four entries in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series while also introducing a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series team."
The 2016 season was the first year of what was announced as a multiyear deal for Nature's Bakery and Patrick. The food brand replaced Patrick's long-time partner, GoDaddy, and was on Patrick's car in 28 races.
This season will be Patrick's fifth full year in the Cup Series after finishing a career-best 24th in points the last two years. In 154 starts, Patrick has six top-10 finishes and one pole. In 2013, Patrick became the first woman to win a NASCAR pole when she topped the chart for the Daytona 500.
