This movie was based on the touchy-feely people who spread the BS that since the MAYAN calendar ended in the year 2012, that it meant that the Earth was going to end in 2012.
It was more liberal BS.

My insurance agent for 10 years has sent me a calendar that ended DEC 31.
The world has never ended on DEC 31....for 10 years......, but a lot of money was made from the
BS that the world would end in 2012.

The BS'ers told us also that computers would stop and planes would fall from the sky
at 12:01AM 2000....remember?....there is always someone telling you what to panic over every week.
