Good shoot 'em up but misses the Zeitgeist of the times with all this modern multi-cultural garbage. --A black, an Indian, a Mexican, an Asian, even a woman, etc. At least the woman is a redhead. Hack writers of Hollywood all coked up and nowhere to go. There are a lot of good lines though: "He ain't famous no more." The movie is way too long, some editing could tighten it up. Great cinematography and Ethan, Chris and Vincent steal the show. Denzel does some sly acting. Antoine makes a $90,000,000 spaghetti western with a lot of Clint Eastwood scenes: the noose scar from "Hang 'em High", the partnership between the Asian and Southern sharpshooter from Clint and Wallach in "Good, Bad and the Ugly".
The Mexican this time shooting the guy into the coffin, etc. The Gatling gun I guess is from Tom Cruise in "The Last Samurai". The two Indians fighting is from "Last of the Mohicans" with Daniel Day Lewis so the movie has good pedigree. I think Antoine's young son told him what to put in the movie. There's a lot of symbolism but what is the basic metaphor?
