Rebellion Racing squad has confirmed the mandatory silver-rated drivers for its two ORECA-Gibson 07 entries in the upcoming World Endurance Championship. David Heinemeier Hansson and Julien Canal complete the line-up for the Swiss team's new LMP2 squad.
Heinemeier Hansson, who won the GTE Am WEC crown with Aston Martin Racing in 2014, will team with Nelson Piquet Jr. and Mathias Beche. Canal, a P2 titlist with OAK Racing in 2015 and also a former GTE Am champ (with Larbre Competition in 2012) will share the other car with Bruno Senna and Nicolas Prost.
"I couldn't wish for a better team to begin my fifth full season in the FIA WEC and my sixth crack at the 24 Hours of Le Mans," said Heinemeier Hansson. "The competition is tougher than ever in LMP2, the cars are more exciting than ever, and together we will be ready as a team."
Team manager Bart Hayden added: "We are fortunate to benefit from a talented and experienced pool of drivers again this year. I'm convinced that they will all do a great job and work well together."
Rebellion is taking part in P2 competition in both the WEC and IMSA this year, running the endurance rounds of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Its ORECA-Gibson was consistently among the fastest cars at this past weekend's Roar Before the 24 test sessions at Daytona.
